ACT: Standing room only in Canberra's churches
Easter church services in the ACT have been standing room only with more than 1,000
people packing into the catholic cathedral and other churches for today's Easter Sunday
mass.
St Christopher's Cathedral was packed for all four Masses today as Archbishop FRANCIS
CARROLL credited MEL GIBSON's movie The Passion of the Christ for an increased interest
in religion this Easter.
Archbishop CARROLL says the movie has helped remind people of the story of the resurrection.
The Anglican Bishop of Canberra and Goulburn, GEORGE BROWNING, mentioned the Rwandan
genocide, terror attacks and the football scandals in his Easter address.
Bishop BROWNING says it often appears there's little justice in the world, but Easter
proves that the darkest hours do not last.
